- By default, the EnableSilentAutoUpdate MSI/GPO/PLIST option will now be enabled, which updates the desktop client without the install wizard appearing.
General features
- Automatic updates - Windows, macOS
- Users can enable the desktop client to update itself when updates are available for install. Users can choose between 2 different update cadences: Slow (default) for fewer updates and better stability, or Fast for the newest features and updates. This will be enabled by default for standard installations, but disabled for the package for IT Admins for managed installations. Enterprise users with the existing automatic update option disabled are unaffected.
- Additional MSI/PLIST/GPO/MDM options

Meeting/webinar features

- Control progression of presentation slides without needing to ask the participant sharing the presentation for the next slide. Supports presentations in Google Slides, Powerpoint, and Keynote. The account owner and admins can enable this for use at the Account-, Group-, and User-level web settings. This feature requires version 5.8.3 or higher.

- Compatibility enhancements for Smart Gallery - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
- Various enhancements for how the client handles the multi-stream Smart Gallery view from a Zoom Room, such as moving all Zoom Room participants into a Breakout Room together, in-meeting chat messages are sent to the Zoom Room as a whole (instead of sent to individual members), and assigning the Zoom Room host controls, rather than an individual participant.
Webinar features
- Order Q&A chronologically or by upvotes - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
- User submitted Q&A questions are sorted by default chronologically, with the most recent appearing at the bottom of the list. The host and panelists can also sort the questions by number of upvotes, to prioritize more popular questions.
- Guest indicator for submitted Q&A - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
- Questions submitted by external attendees in a webinar will be labeled with the Guest marker, to make it clearer which questions are internally or externally submitted.
Chat features
- Consolidated display of transferred files and images - Windows, macOS, Android, iOS. When sending up to 6 files or images, the files/images are displayed in the same chat bubble, along with any accompanying text. This feature requires version 5.5.0 or higher and is not available when enhanced chat encryption is enabled.
Phone features
- Caller verified icon for incoming calls - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
- Zoom Phone will show "caller verified" check marks to help users identify robocalls and spam calls. A check mark icon appears if the carrier has authenticated the calling party and they are authorized to use the calling number. The check mark icon appears in the call log and inbound call notifications (client, app) for these inbound call scenarios:
- Extension to extension calls in the same account
- Call between Zoom Phone customers
- Incoming calls from the U.S. public telephone network when the originating carrier has provided an A-level attestation per STIR/SHAKEN guidelines.

Resolved Issues
- Minor bug fixes

Previous release notes
Changes to existing features
- MSI flag required for Outlook IM Integration on MSI deployments - Windows
- Due to a potential conflict with components shared with other Microsoft products, such as Skype and Teams, the integration for Outlook status syncing will not be automatically available with MSI deployments. This must be deployed by admins with the existing MSI/GPO option IntegrateZoomWithOutlook. The exe version is unaffected, as it already required admin credentials to be enabled.
General features
- SSO logout notifications - Windows, macOS, Android, iOS
- Set by admins in the web portal, users are forewarned when they will be automatically signed-out of the desktop client and mobile app. Warnings can be provided at login, 24 hours, 1 hour, and 5 minutes before logout.
Meeting/webinar features
- Transfer meetings between devices - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
- Seamlessly transition meetings from mobile to desktop and back to mobile, allowing you to take advantage of the mobility of the mobile client and the more feature-rich desktop client to suit your needs. This feature will not be immediately available for all, as it will be rolled out to customers over time.
- Watermark enhancements - Linux
- Watermarks will display the entire email address over a participant's shared screen and video tile, as well as displayed over their video in most video layouts (Speaker, Gallery, Side-by-side). The watermark is also visibly more apparent as a tiled pattern across the video or shared screen. This brings the Linux client into parity with the same recent enhancements for Windows and macOS clients.
- Optimize for video auto-detect - Windows
- When Optimize for video clip is enabled but no video is detected, the client will automatically disable this feature to provide better visual quality of the shared content, then automatically re-enable when video is detected again.
- Support for Virtual Background images without a green screen - Linux
- The ability to use the Image as Virtual Background feature without the need of a green screen is now supported on Linux. System requirements will be provided in the Virtual Background System Requirements Support article.
Meeting features
- Limit screen sharing for meetings with external participants - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
- Admins can apply restrictions to specific users or to groups through web settings to prevent these users from screen sharing when a guest participant (a user external to the host's account) joins a meeting. These users will still be able to screen share when there are no guest participants.
- Automatic reactions from gesture recognition - iOS (iPad only)
- Allows for visual gestures, such as a raised hand, to automatically use a corresponding meeting reaction, Raise hand. Currently, this is supported for Raise Hand and Thumbs Up reactions.
Chat features
- Chat sidebar enhancements - Windows, macOS, Android, iOS
- Further quality-of-life enhancements to the chat sidebar, including easy and clear designation if a channel is public or private. For the desktop clients, fewer chats/channels are shown per group, as well as the ability to expand to see more, in order to provide greater overall visibility of all chats and channels.
- Chat enhancements - Linux
- Bookmarked messages and contact requests are relocated to their own quick-access buttons at the top of the chat sidebar. Search interface has been simplified for easier use.
- Relocation of Search bar - Windows, macOS
The Search bar in the client has been relocated to the left side of the client.
Phone features
- Privacy feature for shared lines - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
- If enabled by an account owner and admin, shared line group and shared line appearance members can lock their current call. This prevents others from picking up a held call, listening, whispering, barging, or taking over the call.

Phone users can view their own company number and extension while in a call. Previously, only the extension was displayed.
